POWERFUL EXPERIENCE

I had a very powerful experience over Pesach which I'm inclined to share with you. I learned what it means to really let go and not force an outcome.  A patient was referred to me who was in the hospital with kidney failure and on dialysis. However, the main symptom I was called in for was that this 63-year-old man's mind was fading in and out.  He was conscious but confused.

Have you ever walked into a situation knowing that you are meant to be there, meant to help out, but really have no idea what that is?  I felt confident that I was called in for a reason.  The doctors did not know what was wrong and had no answers. I looked up to Heaven before I walked in and said "Master of the Universe....I am here because you brought me here and if that's so, then please tell me what I'm supposed to do and I will do it.  I cannot see the whole picture and I certainly don't understand what's happening with this man, but please give me the strength and wisdom to be your messenger and provide the proper treatment."

Then I began to administer treatments. I did two sessions of deep cranial work and other light therapeutic touch. The treatments were very powerful and after each one you could see a sense of calm in the man.

Two days later I found out he passed away.  I had sensed this lack of vitality as I was treating him, but couldn't quite put my finger on what it was that I was feeling.  I have never been in that kind of situation before and I am in awe that I was part of his transition from this world to the next.

This experience has given me a new perspective on what it means to treat.  Who am I to know what another person really needs?  Of course we want to make other people feel better, cure their diseases, save their lives, etc.  Of course we must try, but at the end of the day maybe the people around us need something other than what we think they need.  We must learn to let go of our own needs and allow others to experience their process on their own terms.  The experience has shifted my perception of the world and I pray that it will bring new inspiration to my treatments and to all my relationships.
