Stress Tips
- Don't fight the stress! This is important. Don't criticize yourself and don't complain about the sress. It will only exaggerate it and the stress will fight back.
- Ask yourself, "where in my body is the source of this stress/tension I'm feeling?" Your answer may come as a feeling, a picture in your minds eye, or your hands might be drawn for no particular reason to a certain spot. Trust your answer! Place one or both of your hands on that spot and imagine a soothing warm energy coming out of your hands. Feel it surrounding and filling the tension. Focus on the warmth.
- Drink lots and lots of water!! Our bodies need to be constantly hydrated to function properly. This helps the body get rid of so much junk, especially stress. DRINK!! (AT LEAST 10 CUPS A DAY)
- Get in touch with that "Inner Child" of yours! That little boy or girl wants to come out and play. Don't take things so seriously all the time. Watch how little kids play. Learn from them. It's intersting to see that when kids do get upset/stressed, they get all emotional and then 5 min later it's as if nothing happened. They let go so fast!!
- Take out a pad of paper and write down your goals! You will notice your mood shift and lighten as you focus on those things you are really excited about. Don't hold back....write down anything that comes to mind and excites you
- I know everyone says this....get some exercise! It's so important!! Go walk for an hour, it'll make a world of difference.
- Sit quietly and focus on our breath. Fall into the rhythm of your breathing and watch the stress fade away.
